BorderPass takes user data security extremely seriously and we have numerous technical and operational measures in place to ensure that customer data remains safe. We’re committed to being transparent about our security practices and helping customers understand our approach.
BorderPass encrypts data at rest and in transit for all of our customers. We use tools like Amazon Web Service’s Key Management System (KMS) to manage encryption keys using hardware security modules for maximum security in line with industry best practices.
Application Security
BorderPass regularly engages some of the industry’s best application security experts for third-party penetration tests. Our penetration testers evaluate the source code, running application, and the deployed environment. We also use high-quality static analysis tooling provided by GitHub Advanced Security
Infrastructure Security
BorderPass uses Amazon Web Services to host our application. We make full use of the security products embedded within the AWS ecosystem, including KMS, GuardDuty, and Inspector. In addition, we deploy our application using containers run on AWS managed services, meaning we typically do not manage servers or EC2 instances in production.
SOC 2 & Vanta
BorderPass currently works with Vanta, a SOC 2 readiness software solution to continuously ensure that BorderPass is is adhering to a standard set of common SOC 2 controls. As part of this engagement, BorderPass has also engaged with an AICPA-accredited auditor who will file our SOC 2 report outside of the Vanta platform.
